California man discovers abandoned cars on Google Maps
When you think about abandoned cars, there are a few typical locations that might spring to mind.
Sometimes they’re left at airports, and sometimes lucky people discover them in their grandma’s garage.
There were even a couple of supercars sitting around fancy neighborhoods like Beverly Hills.

And we couldn’t possibly count all the times these unwanted cars have piled up in car graveyards or barns up and down the country, from Iowa to California.
But out in the backroads and mountains, it’s a different story.
Not as many people will come across the cars out there, so they can go unnoticed for years at a time.
That’s where TikToker desertadventures comes into the picture.
This California man has been finding deserted cars on Google Maps for years, and it’s a lot harder than it sounds.

He’s shared his finds with TikTok and accumulated quite the following for his work.
Once a car has been identified on Google Maps, he’d send in a drone to get a clearer look at it.
And he doesn’t just leave it there – he’ll do the extra legwork to find out the story behind each car.
He turned his hobby into detective work
Whenever he locates vehicles with identifiable information, he’ll share that with the authorities.
This has led to missing people being located.
Since he started doing this in 2015, he has found more than 4,000 forgotten cars out in the wilderness of America.

People on TikTok were taken with his work and applauded him in the comments sections of his videos.
“When you said, ‘let’s go check it out’ you meant LITERALLY! Haha, wasn’t expecting that,” one person commented.
Another joked that desertadventures was working with ‘Google Earth premium’.
