CarWow decided to answer the question everyone was asking by pitting eight luxury SUVs one against the other.
We’re talking about the Ferrari Purosangue, Aston Martin DBX 707, Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, BMW X6M, Land Rover Defender V8, Range Rover Sport SV, Mercedes-AMG G 63, and the Lamborghini Urus Performante.
It was a party and everyone wanted to join.
And you’ll never guess the overwall winner.
The challenge included three separate tests for these SUVs
CarWow presenters tested these eight vehicles in three different ways.
First, there was the inevitable drag race – a classic.
The drag race was followed by the second test: multiple rolling races starting from 50mph.
The third and final test was a brake test.

Which SUV won what
The contenders included a Ferrari Purosangue, Porsche Cayenne Coupe Turbo E-Hybrid, Aston Martin DBX 707, Lamborghini Urus Performante, BMW X6M, Range Rover Sport SV, Mercedes-AMG G 63, and a Land Rover Defender V8.
In the drag race, torque and power were king and queen, and the Ferrari Purosangue and Aston Martin DBX 707 won that quite easily with a time of 11.7 seconds.
The X6M was right behind them with 11.8 seconds, followed by the Porsche Cayenne and the Range Rover Sport SV.

When it came to rolling races, the result was inconclusive because the first race was aborted, the second one was ruined by the fact one of the presenters had left the Ferrari in automatic mode, and the third race only included slower SUVs.
However, the key takeaway is that the BMW was always up there with the best.
The brake race, interestingly, was won by the BMW and the Mercedes-AMG G 63.
So who’s the winner?

While the CarWow team didn’t exactly highlight a winner, we’re going to go out on a limb and declare one based on what they showed: the BMW X6M.
The X6M was the second-fastest SUV in the drag race, the most consistent performer throughout the rolling races, and the winner of the brake test.

And, reminder, this is the second-cheapest SUV here.
So, clearly, you do get a lot of bang for your buck.
Base MSRP of these luxury SUVS
Ferrari Purosangue – $430,000
Lamborghini Urus Performante – $270,000
Aston Martin DBX 707 – $265,000
Mercedes-AMG G 63 – $198,750
Range Rover Sport SV – $180,000
Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid – $170,000
BMW X6 M Competition – $136,000
Land Rover Defender V8 – $118,000
