For many gearheads, the thought of owning an American muscle car like a Chevrolet Corvette is all but a dream.

The thought of getting behind the wheel of a 3LT model with a 6.2-liter LT2 V8, pumping out 495 horsepower, is enough to raise the hair on your arms.

So, if you were lucky enough to get your hands on one, you’d never give it up, right?

Not for one man who, after putting 77 miles (124 kilometers) on the clock, is ready to move on.

Chevrolet Corvette

There’s no shortage of cool muscle cars on the market today, but the Chevrolet Corvette hits the sweet spot.

It’s rear-mid engined and rear-wheel drive, so really it makes for the perfect sports car – although some people like to take them to the extreme, like the guy who got his tuned and is now terrified by how fast it can go.

And what color is the dream sports car – red of course

Well, it just so happens that one has popped up for sale on the classifieds – and it’s got all the right options.

The 2024 Stingray Coupe is finished in Torch Red and comes with those all-important GT2 bucket seats, a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, as well as Performance data and video recorder.

Oh, and it was specced from new with the Z51 performance package, which means it comes equipped with a performance exhaust, rear axle ratio, an eLSD, a special front splitter and rear spoiler, a heavy-duty cooling system, and wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber.

But, after dropping $93,960 in June 2024, the owner has decided to part ways with the Chevrolet Corvette.

Why did the owner let it go?

We’re purely speculating about the actual reason behind the decision, but it could be down to something as simple as poor financial decisions.

That being said, with news coming out of Chevrolet HQ that the ZR1 hit 233mph (375km/h) recently, it could be that the owner wants a piece of that action.

Either way, they’re likely to make a loss, as the highest bid for the Torch Red Stingray Coupe at the time of writing was $52,000, with three days remaining.

It’s unlikely it’ll fetch more than $100,000, although you never know, as someone who dreams of owning one might just bite the bullet, instead of waiting for one to come out of the factory.
