This company that turns Mazda Miatas into rip-roaring Jaguars is taking the creations stateside.
Rocketeer Cars swaps the usual four-cylinder engine in favour of a 3.0-liter naturally aspirated V6.
But that’s not all.
Other options are available to take the humble Miatas to a whole new level.

Mazda is known for producing reliable cars.
Its fleet includes a variety of autos, from daily drivers to roadsters. There are many options available.
One gearhead even sold a Lightning McQueen wrapped Mazda on Facebook Marketplace – talk about getting creative.
Plus, Mazda’s new EZ-60 EV SUV might even rival Tesla in the future, too.
But one company has gone a step further and is taking the humble Miata to the next level.
The company, Rocketeer Cars, gives the Miatas a whole new lease of life.
“We elevate driving essence – transcending platforms for a symphony of performance. The MX5 platform, chosen for its excellence, is our starting point.
“Yet, it’s not a constraint but a canvas for boundless creativity, leaving room to explore other marques in the pursuit of driving perfection,” states the company.
The main impressive point, however, is under the hood, which consists of a three-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine.

Based in the UK, the company is now reportedly taking the phenomenon stateside, too, meaning interested gearheads can get in on the action.
The company also offers Turnkey Conversions, which is given as an option for Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3 MX5s.
“Rocketeer is fully equipped to carry out all upgrades and modifications the client desires as part of the build.
“Central to the build are the AJ30 engines, hand-built and blueprinted by renowned engine optimisers, Basset Down Balancing in Wiltshire,” it explained.
It offers lots of modifications from ‘steering and brake upgrades to a full nut and bolt restoration’, plus bodywork restoration and painting from ‘specialist artisans’.
The Jaguar engine, though, is certainly a far cry from the Miata’s original.

“Thanks to its output, weight, size, and flexibility, the AJ30 engine delivers on the vision.
“Light, high-revving, sweet, tractable, and of course, tuneful. It is a balance that suits the car beautifully. It takes everything good about the original MX5 and resonates with it; elevating the whole experience to a new level.
“Not just the performance but much more significantly, it has soul,” concluded Rocketeer.
Coming soon to Rocketeer is the ‘Kieryo’, a special build that boasts even more power.
Rocketeer describes it as a ‘road car defined by three core principles – super lightweight design, total analogue control, and raw naturally aspirated power’.
It has 350HP and an 850KG wet weight – impressive, right?
Alongside bespoke services, self-build kits are available, too, ranging from $2,638 (£1995) to $7,928 (£5995), plus Tax. The Turnkey option starts at $22,000 plus Tax.
Would you trade in your Miata’s engine for a new and improved version?
