This Corvette ZR1 hit the auction block a few years too early after venturing a mere 40 miles.

The Chevrolet supercar surfaced online after its power proved to be a little too much for one driver.

The Chevy Corvette is an automotive icon, but after just a few miles, the owner said bye to their beloved set of wheels.

Band new from the 2026 model year, this case that proves that newer doesn’t always mean better in every scenario.

This Chevy Corvette ZR1 barely touched the open road

Over on Bring a Trailer, the 2026 Corvette ZR1 appeared and went for a whopping price of $333,000.

But why would someone sell their brand new vehicle so soon you ask?

Well, it was allegedly a bit too powerful for the owner.

Underneath the listing, the seller shared some information.

“Our client did not purchase this flip it either, he bought it because he genuinely wanted it and has a nice collection of cars.

“He loves the car but the 1064HP is just more than he needs,” explained the Corvette seller.

For some gearheads, there’s no such thing as too much horsepower.

But in this case, the ZR1 proved a little too wild.

Originally bought for $214,800, the Chevy was more than just the standard model, that’s for sure.

Here’s what the ZR1 came with

This Chevy came with the ‘ZR1 Carbon Fiber Aero Package and the ZTK Performance Track Package’ which provided the addition of a carbon-fiber wing, revised suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes.

The twin-turbocharged 5.5 liter LT7 V8 was paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle – this Corvette meant business.

Inside the car there was a top-of-the-range Bose system, GT2 bucket sears and even a ‘connected navigation and performance data recorder’.

Not only could the owner reach high speeds, but they could be noted down too.

There were a few things for buyers to think about including a lien that needed to be paid off by before the title was able to be transferred.

Plus the fact that it was sold again within six months meant that the warranty was ‘null and void for all future owners’.

You have to admit, with thousands of dollars of package upgrades and the fact it was barely driven, the listing was rare.

So, one owner’s Corvette love affair may have ended early – but this ZR1 is now set to be enjoyed by another car fan with a serious need for speed.
