Dave Portnoy’s AE point balance was shown on camera, and it revealed that he could fly first class to Italy and back 220 times.
Anyone with an American Express card knows how valuable their points are, as they lead to Membership Rewards.
American businessman and social media personality, Dave Portnoy, was filmed sliding his Centurion card into a reader to purchase a pack of gum.
And it was here that the whole internet got a look at his AE point balance, and got a chance to see how the other half live.

Dave Portnoy’s AE point balance is a sight to behold
Dave Portnoy’s AE point balance has been getting people talking recently.
The owner of Barstool Sports had stopped by a Rite Aid to pick up a $1.59 pack of gum.
Not exactly the most lavish purchase we’ve seen a celebrity do, is it?

We’re more accustomed to seeing Taylor Swift shell out $54M on a jet, or Shaq spending $1.3M to get even with a car salesman.
But at any rate, it’s not the expense being spent on the purchase that had people talking.
No, it was Dave Portnoy’s AE point balance that left the internet with their jaws collectively on the ground.
After Portnoy placed his Amex in the reader, it was revealed that he had nearly 45 million Amex points to his name.

Yes, you read that right.
If redeemed through Amex Travel, that would be the equivalent of $450,000.
Oh, but it gets better.
Because of the Business Centurion card’s 50 percent rebate, it would be worth double that – $900,000.
If he wanted to, he could fly to Italy 220 times in Emirates First Class.
We don’t know about you, but that sounds really good right about now.
Famous and rich people really do live different lives from the rest of us
Sure, the point balance on an American Express card might seem like a relatively minor luxury.

And by that, we mean it isn’t quite as flashy and in-your-face as other indulgences.
Scott Disick has gone full ‘car-dashian’ with his line-up of cars, while Magic Johnson sailed the Mediterranean in a $1-a-week superyacht.
But now we have to wonder – what other AE balance points do celebrities have sitting in their wallets?
Perhaps we could draw up a league table?
And then we could see who could fly first class to Italy the most.
