Soccer legend David Beckham is a huge car fan, and his favorite is the $300,000 Maserati MC20 supercar.

Beckham’s first love is of course, soccer, a sport he graced for many years, but he is also a massive car enthusiast.

The soccer star is such a fan that he commissioned Maserati to build not one but two special versions of its MC20 supercar for him that cost $300,000 each.

Such is the exclusivity of this version of the supercar, Beckham owns the only two examples like this in the entire world.

What makes the Beckham Maserati MC20 supercar so special

David Beckham has two of the special MC20 supercars, with one located in London and one in Miami.

Speaking to British GQ, he said he went through Maserati’s special Fuoriserie customization program, to create both cars.

The first has gone through a couple of designs.

Initially, it was deep purple to slightly pink, before he changed it to straight black with pink trim and brake calipers.

The second one, located in London, has a gunmetal grey finish. But it’s the black and pink one that Beckham prefers.

He’s even been trying to get his wife, Victoria, to drive the MC20, but so far has had no luck.

It’s little surprise that Beckham is such a big fan of the MC20.

The MC20 is one of Maserati’s best supercars

“It’s a bit low, but otherwise it’s pretty easy to drive. On a track, it’s unbelievable,” the former soccer player said during the same GQ interview.

Under the hood of the Maserati is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine, making 620HP.

That is enough to propel the car to a top speed of 201MPH.

Acceleration is also very impressive, with the supercar going from 0-60MPH in just three seconds.

The soccer star met with Klaus Busse, Maserati’s design director, to help guide him through the customization process.

Maserati is going through a tough time at the moment, even if the MC20 has been very well received.

However, the supercar does showcase what the Italian car manufacturer is capable of.

It’s clearly impressed Beckham, given he has two of them in his garage.
