Dwayne Johnson – AKA the Rock – once gifted a brand-new Ford F-150 to his uncle, who helped him get into wrestling and become a WWE star.
Johnson broke into the sport back in 1996 and is now regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
In his decades-long career, he’s been crowned the world champion 10 times, won the 2000 Royal Rumble, and is a five-time Tag Team Champion.
However, the star hasn’t forgotten his roots and once made a sweet gesture to his ‘Uncle Tonga’, who helped him to break into the WWE when he was young.

Dwayne Johnson was helped out by his Uncle Tonga
Alongside his long career in the ring – where he’s known as ‘The Rock’ – Dwayne Johnson, 52, launched a successful acting career, with roles in the Fast and Furious franchise, Black Adam, and Baywatch.
He’s also the owner of a pretty epic car collection, thought to be worth around $10 million.

Johnson doesn’t just splash the cash on his own collection, he gave his dad a $60,000 truck to show his appreciation for all he’d done for him.
And back in 2015, he wanted to show gratitude to his ‘Uncle Tonga’ for helping launch his WWE career and decided to buy him a brand-new Ford F-150 worth around $58,000.
In a post on Instagram, Johnson explained that his ‘uncle’ had been a big name in wrestling back in the 1970s after being trained up by Johnson’s grandfather.
Fast-forward a couple of decades, and Johnson said he was called up by the WWE to take part in a ‘tryout match’.
However, there was one problem: Johnson wasn’t ‘The Rock’ yet and had never had a real match in his life, so he had absolutely zero wrestling gear.
So he reached out to his uncle to ask if he had any trunks he could borrow for the tryout.
And his uncle stepped up, offering to give Johnson a pair of ‘shiny purple trunks’ that he was more than happy to wear.
“When I picked the trunks up from him, I’ll never forget the monster hug he gave me,” Johnson wrote.
“He looked me in the eyes and said, ‘I’m so proud of you. Go get ’em, nephew!’”
The WWE star repaid his uncle’s kindness years later with a Ford F-150

Johnson wore the lucky purple trunks to his first-ever match, and the rest is history.
Johnson never forgot the kind gesture, and years later, he bought his uncle a new Ford F-150 to say thanks.
“My Uncle Tonga is a family man, a humble man, and a champion,” he said.
“Most importantly, one of the greatest human beings I know.
“So we walk outside and I said, ‘Uncle, how do you like my truck?’ He said, ‘Whoooaaa nephew, it’s beautiful… I love it!’ I said, ‘Good ’cause it’s yours.’
“He was speechless. Through tears (manly of course) we monster hugged ’cause I’ll never forget what he did for me when I had nothing.”
