The FBI has just seized a Mercedes CLK-GTR valued at $13,000,000 in a raid.
It makes this bust one of the most expensive car raids ever recorded.
As you’ve probably worked out, this is no ordinary Mercedes.
What it is, in fact, is a legendary Mercedes hypercar from the early 2000s.

US authorities conducting raids isn’t exactly news.
But this particular bust is more than newsworthy.
That’s because an internet post from the FBI went viral.
Last night, its Los Angeles field office made a massive announcement about successful raids made as part of an international sting.

The raids were conducted as part of its Giant Slalom operation.
Authorities are currently searching for Ryan Wedding, a Canadian former snowboarder-turned-drug lord.
The Canadian represented his country at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
But these days, Wedding is on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.
As part of the major criminal investigation, a Mercedes worth $13,000,000 was seized.
You’ve probably worked out by now that this was no ordinary Mercedes.
What it is, in fact, is a legendary German hypercar from the early 2000s.
This is the Mercedes CLK-GTR from 2002.
And it is a truly legendary figure from the hypercar world.
Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR is a legend among legends
The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR is as close to a GT track car as you can get.
Developed as a prototype for the 1997 GIA GT Championship, the car is an absolute monster on wheels.
The 6.9-liter V12, built and developed by AMG, produces an inhuman noise.
The engine is good for 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds.
The speed tops out at 205mph, which is absolutely incredible.
What makes this car even rarer than being one-of-28 is that it is actually one-of-six.

And that’s because just six of the 28 units were produced as roadsters.
The roadster has a convertible roof and was exclusively developed by HWA GmbH.
FBI authorities said that the roadster seized in Los Angeles is worth north of $13,000,000.
And honestly, we think they might be spot on.
