A guy in Oklahoma bought a Ford F-100 for his son and spent two years trying to fix it.
The idea was to buy the truck, spend some time restoring it, and then give it to his son for his 16th birthday.
But things didn’t go that way.
Over two years and six figures later, the truck is still not ready.

A sad story, and it’s not even over yet
Tim Hayes, a man in Oklahoma, bought this 1967 Ford F-100 for his son a couple of years ago.
He thought restoring it would take a year or so, and so he did the math and figured he could time it just right and have the truck ready by the time his son turned 16.
But things didn’t go to plan.
It’s been well over two years and the truck still isn’t ready, and what makes it worse is this guy already spent $115,000 on repairs.

The whole thing got so out of control that it made the news.
Even KFOR-TV, a news channel in Oklahoma City, talked about it and tried getting in touch with the owner of the workshop.
But that didn’t work either.
In the end, Tim decided to cut his losses and pick up the unfinished truck, but not before having to fork out an additional $12,000.

About the Ford F-100
As the name suggests, the Ford F-100 is part of the (large) family of F-Series trucks.
It was introduced in 1953 as a rebranded version of the original F-1, and it remained in production until 1983, when it was replaced by the Ford Ranger.
Ironically, the huge success of the F-150, which was America’s best-selling vehicles for 47 years (!), contributed to the demise of the F-100 nameplate.
It’s still hugely popular among collectors, though.
Even Post Malone has one.
