A mashup of a Ford Mustang and a Ferrari is the perfect blend of American muscle car and Italian supercar.
Shared on Instagram by the account Smoothracer, the curious mashup has earned the name ‘Corruptt Mustang’, and it’s a wild way to blend the two cars.
The car combines the body of a 1968 Mustang with the powertrain coming from one of Ferrari’s V8-powered machines.
Purists might not like it, but it’s certainly an imaginative way to combine two very different segments of car.

Italian V8 power is the highlight of the Ford-Ferrari mashup
The 1968 Mustang still has the classic lines of the muscle car, but it’s the supercar engine that’s the highlight.
The Instagram post says that gone is the Ford V8, and in its place is a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter Ferrari V8.
If that wasn’t enough, that mighty engine produces 1,000HP. More than any Mustang could ever dream of.

While there are no further details on the engine on Instagram, pictures of the engine bay show how unhinged it looks.
The Prancing Horse logo and Ferrari name help to identify the engine, making no mistake of its origins.
The two turbochargers also sit prominently and menacingly next to the V8.
The custom Mustang has a bespoke chassis
If that wasn’t enough, the Instagram post says that the Mustang has a bespoke, custom chassis.
Handling all the power is a six-speed manual transmission, making it a dream for enthusiasts.
The post describes the car as ‘more than just a showpiece,’ and it’s clear it was a passion project.
A video on Hand Built Cars from five years ago reveals the same car.
That video confirms the F136 engine originally came from a Ferrari F430.
The car was built by American Legends Hot Rods and Muscle Cars, and made its debut at the 2018 SEMA show.
Builder Tony Arme also redesigned the interior.
The American used Lamborghini components, while the turbos are from Nelson Racing Engines.
The attention to detail is impressive, with little of the original Ford design remaining.
Capping off the build is the air ride suspension and the stunning Avant wheels.
If you are going to restomod a Ford Mustang, this is the way to do it.
