A Honda Civic that became an unlikely Philadelphia tourist attraction after being completely encased in ice, has been removed.
Many parts of America have had a brutally cold start to 2026 with sub-zero temperatures and snow and ice-covered roads.
In Wisconsin, volunteers created an ‘ice highway’ over the frozen Lake Winnebago.
And in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood, a Honda Civic became a frozen monument that became a hit with locals.

The Honda Civic was a big hit on social media and became a tourist attraction
When you think of American tourist attractions, your mind probably goes to the likes of the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, and the Grand Canyon.
But over in Philadelphia’s Fishtown, it was a frozen 2016 Honda Civic that was recently grabbing all the attention.

Owner Tianna Graham parked the car near her apartment during a snowstorm and returned to find it completely encased in ice.
It’s unclear how it happened, but local residents told NBC Philadelphia that a water pipe had burst nearby and as cars drove by, they splashed the water onto the parked cars creating a layer of ice and turning the Civic into a sort of four-wheeled igloo.
“I was freaking out a little bit,” Graham told The Philadelphia Inquirer.
“I was just like, ‘I don’t even know where to start.’”
She shared the bizarre story on TikTok, where it quickly racked up millions of views from people across the globe.
It also prompted some locals to venture out to take a look for themselves.
In fact, the chilly Civic generated so much buzz that even became a tourist attraction on Google Maps where it held an impressive five stars.
In an attempt to get back into her frozen Honda, Graham enlisted the help of a pal and was able to eventually prise the passenger door open.
However, inside, the poor old Civic was in a sorry state with ‘water everywhere’ and Graham was unable to move it.

The frozen car has finally been removed
Although she’s managed to poke fun at the situation online, it’s been a stressful situation for Graham.
“It’s really just overall inconvenient,” she told the publication.
“I understand that it’s like hilarious and everyone’s loved it, but nobody has been offering any kind of valid help at this point.

“I don’t really know where to go from here.”
Thankfully, the end of the saga could be in sight, with the car finally being freed from the ice block and towed away.
The Honda Civic has since been sent away for investigation, but Graham says her insurance company have told her it’ll likely be a write-off.
