The one-off Bugatti La Voiture Noire is the holy grail of hypercars.
It was originally sold privately by Bugatti ahead of the public unveil.
At the time, it was the most expensive new car in the world.
Now, thanks to a collaboration between SBX Cars and Broad Arrow, a Hagerty company, it’s available in the open market for the first time.

How the Bugatti La Voiture Noire was created
Occasionally dubbed LVN, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire (French for ‘black car’) was a project that Bugatti kept under wraps for years.
When the first prototype was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, jaws dropped because no one was expecting it.
And no one knew exactly what it was.

We later learned that the LVN was based on the Chiron, but with a couple of key differences.
From a technical standpoint, this one-off Bugatti uses the same 1,500-horsepower W16 as the Chiron, but the suspension has been relaxed for a more comfortable ride.
This is still a hypercar, obviously, but it’s also designed to be a comfortable cruiser.
Visually, it’s slightly longer than the Chiron, and the black exterior is contrasted with tan leather for the interior.

A mysterious collector
The LVN was unveiled in 2019 and registered in 2020, but the car was hardly ever spotted on the road until much later.
This (in part) explains why there have been so many theories and rumors about the identity of the owner.
When it first came out, a number of newspapers and blogs spread claims that Cristiano Ronaldo – who also owns a Centodieci – had bought it.

This theory didn’t really hold water considering the car was registered in Switzerland, and it was later denied by a spokesperson for Ronaldo.
The real owner of the one-of-one hypercar was never publicly revealed, and remains shrouded in mystery to this day.
The Bugatti hypercar is now available to buy via SBX Cars.
