The Bugatti Veyron is, in many ways, the car that changed the supercar game.

First released in 2005, the Veyron established Bugatti as a brand at the top of the supercar food chain.

One thing that people have always wondered is how quickly this mean machine drains its 100-liter tank.

And it turns out that the rate the tank empties while driving at top speed has shocked the masses.

Bugatti Veyron emptied its tank in just minutes

Despite being succeeded by the Chiron, the Bugatti Veyron has endured as a true legend.

The original model was capable of getting up to a maximum top speed of 253mph.

Its 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged W16 engine completely changed the nature of the supercar.

In fact, it managed to totally redefine it in so many different ways.

One thing many people have often wondered is how quickly the fuel tank would empty in a Bugatti Veyron.

More specifically, the question has always been – how quickly would the 100-liter tank empty at top speed.

Well, it turns out that there is actually an answer – and it is one that will truly shock you.

The Bugatti Veyron, being driven at top speed, will empty its 100-liter fuel tank…in 12 minutes.

That’s right – it can completely empty its tank in just 12 minutes.

To be fair, that would essentially be like a rocket ship on wheels accelerating.

Plus, traveling 253mph for 12 straight minutes would be some distance covered.

Veyron served as Bugatti’s step into history

As you already know, this is a car that changed history.

Prior to EVs making it the norm, the Veyron provided a 0.60 time of just 2.5 seconds.

It also proved that a production car could provide mind-boggling acceleration numbers.

The marque’s former flagship could accelerate from 0-200mph in just 17 seconds.

That would have made it more comparable to a NASA rocket launch.

What do you think of it? Do you believe that it redefined the supercar as we know it?
