Hyundai is officially on track to enjoy its best-ever year for sales thanks to the Ioniq 5.
The South Korean brand has enjoyed a fantastic first half of 2025 so far.
Its success has been driven (no pun intended) by several core models in the range.
But it is the Ioniq 5 leading the charge, having enjoyed a breakout August.

Hyundai is on course for record-breaking year
The automaker is the latest car brand from the Far East to enjoy a fantastic 2025 to date.
South Korea’s premier marque has been quietly going about its business in the global market.
But it has been doing so in an extremely successful and efficient way.
And now, Hyundai is officially on track for its best-ever year in terms of car sales.
Following back-to-back monthly sales records in July and August, Hyundai Motor North America CEO Randy Parker said the company was ‘firmly on track for our best year ever’.

The brand has been hard at work reinventing and redeveloping itself.
Back in March, the marque announced the opening of a giant, $7.6bn EV facility in Georgia.
The said announcement was a massive statement to the car industry – and highlighted its ambitions.
And it has clearly paid off, with the brand enjoying an incredible year to date.
Last month saw the brand sell over 88,500 vehicles, a 12 percent increase year-over-year (YOY), and set a new August record.
Ioniq 5 leads the sales charge for South Korea
Of course, Hyundai owes a lot of its success to its own preparation and determination.
But there is one model in the range that is spearheading this immense level of growth.
And that model, of course, is the Ioniq 5.
Electrified vehicles accounted for almost one-third of Hyundai’s entire sales last month.
And that segment of the range has been led by breakout sales of the Ioniq 5.
Sales of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 took off on an absolute rocket launch last month.

Said sales jumped by over 61 percent – that translates to 7,773 units sold.
The first eight months of 2025 have seen Hyundai sell 32,700 Ioniq 5 units in the United States.
It represents a 21 percent sales increase compared to the same time last year.
It is little coincidence that the Ioniq 5 is built at the facility in Georgia.
This enables the cars to be eligible for the $7,500 federal tax credit.
What do you think of the brand’s success in the US in 2025 so far?
