Koenigsegg has made itself one of the kings of the hypercar world.
The Swedish marque is responsible for some of the wildest four-wheeled creations ever.
Today, we are going to be taking a look behind the scenes at Koenigsegg.
Because the manufacturing process is truly something to behold.

Koenigsegg: Scandinavian hypercar masterminds
In case you didn’t know it, we are big hypercar fans here at Supercar Blondie.
Of course, that would naturally make us big Koenigsegg fans as well.
And there are a number of reasons for that.

Koenigsegg produces its hypercars in the town of Angelholm in southern Sweden.
Interestingly, the Koenigsegg factory is actually an old, converted Swedish Air Force base.
The facility is also closer to Copenhagen (90 minute drive) than Stockholm (six hour drive).
To be fair, if you’re driving one of Sweden’s finest, that time could be a lot shorter.
How does the Swedish hypercar get made?
As with any hypercar costing millions of dollars, the process is extremely detailed and careful.
In fact, the Swedish supercar brand produces the large majority of its own parts, in-house.
The company has around 500 individual parts that it produces for each car.
Koenigsegg is renowned for its near-constant use of carbon fiber, so that is naturally where the process begins.
A machine produces the digital template parts for each car, and those then get hand-crafted and cut to spec.

After this process is completed, the general chassis is then put onto a platform, where it is taken apart again.
This is in order to ensure the craftsmanship and construction is as bespoke as possible.
As we mentioned, the entire crafting process takes around 4,000 hours for each car because they each require a huge amount of detail.
However, it is this obsession with perfection that has led Koenigsegg to its position of hypercar royalty.
