This Iowa truck stop on Interstate 80 is ‘Disney World for truckers‘, with a mind-boggling range of facilities on site.

The Iowa 80 Truckstop purports to be the world’s largest truck stop, and at this size, who would question it?

It’s larger than 150 football fields, and has everything from 24-hour restaurants to a dentist and a movie theater.

The Iowa truck stop that is ‘Disney World for truckers’

It’s often been said that Disney World is the happiest place on Earth.

And with all the rides and snacks on hand, there’s a good case to be made for the theme park.

But if we were to put forward a contender for second place, it may well be this Iowa truck stop.

Well, if you’re a trucker at least.

Luke Burbank, a reporter for CBS Sunday Morning, pulled up to the stop located on Interstate 80.

The stop, which is halfway between Chicago and Des Moines, is purportedly the world’s largest truck stop.

It plays host to 24-hour restaurants, maintenance shops, a dentists, and a movie theater.

And that’s not forgetting the gym and the barbershop.

With 900 parking spaces available and a staff of 600 on hand to help out, truckers can have their needs and wants catered to with ease.

With the amount of time spent sitting behind the wheel, you can imagine a trucker’s back gets sore, right?

Well, fear not – for there’s a chiropractor on site.

“The general population just doesn’t believe that a chiropractor would be out here,” the chiropractor said.

“But it makes perfect sense. They’re sitting all the time, and back pain is their main problem because they’re prone to slouching from time to time.”

And it’s not just physical needs being attended to.

For any truckers looking to tap into their spiritual side, there’s a ministry on site.

Federal law dictates that truckers working a 14 hour shift need to take a 10 hour break.

And what better place to do it than here?

Truckers work long hours

If you think of a truck driver’s job, you’d imagine long hours out on the road.

And if you’re Homero Flores, that’s four million miles behind the wheel.

But you may also recall that they get paid a surprising amount.

And if you happen to be a trucker working for Taylor Swift, even better.
