A Californian car collector allowed Jay Leno to drive his Ferrari Daytona SP3 supercar, and in it, he outpaced a Dodge Challenger Hellcat for fun.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is one of Maranello’s latest supercars, and it’s possibly one of their best of recent years. It may also be one of the last with a V12 engine under the hood.
Californian car collector David Lee brought one to Leno’s garage for a video on the Jay Leno’s Garage YouTube channel, having also appeared with a Ferrari Purosangue.
In the video, a Dodge Challenger Hellcat tried to show off next to Leno, but the Italian supercar had the American muscle car covered.

Ferrari has only produced 599 Daytona SP3s, and this is a particularly special example.
Owner David went for a green finish with gold racing stripes and golden wheels for his supercar.
Inside, his SP3 follows a similar theme with the yellow seats, and he even hand-picked every material inside the car.
In the video, Lee tells Leno about his Ferrari collection, which includes 50 cars.
The SP3 is a car that impresses both Lee and Leno.
Under the hood is a 6.5-liter V12 that makes 829hp and 514lb-ft of torque.
That is enough to launch the SP3 from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 211mph.
Leno is lucky enough to go out for a drive in the SP3 and experience the power of the Ferrari first-hand.
This is when the Dodge Challenger Hellcat sneaks into the rearview mirror and tries to outdrag the Ferrari.
Leno calmly puts his foot to the floor, and the Daytona SP3 fires off into the distance, leaving the Hellcat in its dust.
Leno and Lee just smirk and laugh as they leave the muscle car behind.
Both agree that the Daytona provides a ‘visceral’ driving experience and is more fun than any EV.

Leno smiles regularly throughout the driving segment, highlighting how good a car it is.
Plus, the naturally aspirated V12 makes an amazing noise, one that is becoming increasingly rare.
Both men say that while there are faster Ferraris out there, they might not be as fun as the Daytona SP3.
It’s even proven itself to be an excellent supercar for drifting – one of many reasons for why this particular supercar stands out from the crowd.
