Super rare Dodge Charger Daytona found in junkyard
Auto Archaeology

A junkyard in Wisconsin was hiding this 1975 Dodge Charger Daytona that is so rare ‘most people don’t know it exists’.

Ryan Brutt, from the Auto Archaeology YouTube channel went out to the junkyard, which contains more than 1,500 classic vehicles.

The vintage Charger had been parked amongst a horde of other cars, some dating back to the 1920s.

Sadly, the vehicle wasn’t in great condition – but it did turn out to be an incredibly rare find.

The 1975 Dodge Charger Daytona was a rare example

Brutt is well versed when it comes to unearthing old vehicles, having previously checked out this incredible warehouse packed with muscle cars, and discovering this long-lost 1967 AMC Amitron EV concept car.

In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Brutt headed out to Elmer’s Auto Graveyard in Fountain City Wisconsin where he found a bunch of old mopars, including a Dodge Charger Daytona that was a surprisingly rare find.

The first generation Dodge Charger Daytona was released in 1969 and affectionately dubbed the ‘winged warrior’.

But when the Daytona name returned to the Charger in 1975, the car was actually a re-badged Chrysler Cordoba sold under the Dodge Charger Daytona nameplate.

The car was made in very limited numbers, with only 238 produced in 1975 – meaning stumbling across one in a junkyard is a pretty awesome surprise.

‘Most people don’t know these exist’

The limited production of the 1975 Dodge Charger Daytona, which came with a two-tone stripe-and-decal appearance package, means it’s far less well-known than the original.

“Most people don’t know these exist,” Brutt said in the clip as he got closer to the vintage vehicle.

“But I think they’re cool.”

Brutt didn’t take a close look at the vehicle to get a good idea of what state it was in, but even a quick glance reveals the poor old 1975 Dodge Charger Daytona had seen better days.

The bodywork was marred with bumps, scratches, and dents, while the hood was missing entirely and plants appeared to be growing through its engine.

A pretty sad ending for the super-rare classic.

You can check out the full video – and the rest of the mopars – on the Auto Archaeology YouTube channel here.
