This Kansas man imported a ‘perfect’ low-mileage Ferrari from Dubai, but its shady history caught up with him.

When the car arrived, he was aware of its somewhat shady past life.

But he fixed it up and sold it on.

However, that was just the beginning of a host of issues.

Ferraris are the ultimate car pick for auto enthusiasts all over the globe.

The manufacturer has produced many outstanding models from the Stradale to the LaFerrari – the options for a speedy driver are endless.

For example, the world’s first Novitec-tuned Ferrari SF90 XX was recently revealed, and it was stunning.

Plus, we bet you didn’t know that one of the coolest moments in car history involved the Pope and a Ferrari Mondial.

So, thanks to the brand’s coveted history and speedy reputation, this man decided to import a Ferrari from Dubai.

His model of choice was a 1994 Ferrari 456 GT, and he spoke to VINwiki and explained how the ordeal ended up being a project and a half.

“Unfortunately, though, I did know that it had somewhat of a shady history; it had probably been rear-ended really badly in the back at some point and was completely repainted,” he explained.

“The engine needed rebuilding even though it had less than 10,000 miles on it,’ he continued.

He also said that the guy who rebuilt it didn’t do the best job.

But, after he imported it, he sorted it, which luckily didn’t involve a huge spend on parts.

He kept it, took some roadtrips in it, which it did well in, and eventually sold the Ferrari on to another car lover.

After selling it, however, some more issues arose after it was driven on a trip, which wasn’t a great situation to be in.

So, he bought it back from the buyer to put it right, and as you’d think, he felt bad about the situation.

The car had a few issues after the first rebuilding job; it took a further year to be put right.

Luckily, the seller in Dubai contributed money towards it, even though it had been a few years since it was initially shipped off, which was a bonus.

Ultimately, after a long time fixing it up, he managed to get the job done.

Plus, all was not lost as he was then able to sell it for a good price.

Would you take a chance on a Ferrari like he did?
