This Louisiana woman took drastic action after potholes on her street were causing thousands of dollars’ worth of damage.

Jasmine Saul, from New Orleans, shared a video from her Ring doorbell to highlight the issue.

In the viral video, cars were seen going up and down the street, taking on damage from the multiple potholes.

After the footage did the rounds online, the city council took action.

This Louisiana woman was sick and tired of the noise on her street, so she took drastic action

Jasmine Saul had been living on a noisy street for years.

As vehicles went by her house, they hit the deep potholes in the road and made a ton of noise.

This led to cars being damaged and sometimes even breaking down – as was the case with a city dump truck.

“The sounds, the crashing, the car parts dinging, it makes my walls shake,” Saul told WDSU News.

“It’s got to a point where I can feel the car physically coming up the street before it even gets to my house.”

To try and draw attention to the problem, she compiled footage from her Ring doorbell and put it online.

The problem is clear, even from the few samples that made their way onto WDSU.

Even hearing the sounds is enough to make you wince.

To contemplate the sort of damage that’s being wrought upon these vehicles is also painful.

When a mechanic was shown the footage, he concurred that these potholes would be causing a lot of problems for the vehicles.

“You could bust your oil pan up, you could mess your alignment up,” Melvin Rudolph said.

“It could blow tires out, mess up your undercarriage.”

This type of destruction could set drivers back thousands.

Fortunately, the video going viral moved things along, and the road now has a new layer of asphalt covering up the potholes.

Potholes – a common problem for road users around the world

Around the world, potholes are an issue that drivers have to face – even celebrities like Rod Stewart have taken matters into their own hands.

Sometimes cars are tweaked to adapt to these issues, as was the case with BYD’s Yangwang U9.

And even the Cadillac Escalade IQ takes terrible roads into account.

But problems still persist, even if you’re driving a Tesla Cybertruck.

No matter how you slice it, potholes are annoying, costly, and an eyesore.

Nobody likes them.

And sometimes authorities can take longer than you’d like to get around to fixing them.

That’s why people have to take matters into their own hands to raise awareness and take drastic action, just like Jasmine Saul.

One guy in the UK did that brilliantly with a stunt that involved a pair of fake legs.

And yes, it’s just as bizarre as it sounds.
