Dripping in automotive history, one man is transforming a forgotten, abandoned Saab dealership in the United Kingdom into his dream garage.
Once upon a time, this Saab dealership was flush with life, as the European sports car brand was a popular hit within the UK.
But when the company was bought out by General Motors and eventually ceased to be, the dealerships were, naturally, closed down.
Now, one Brit is hell-bent on reviving this historic plot and turning it into his dream garage, paying homage to its past while pioneering a new way to enjoy car culture.

How one abandoned Saab dealership is being renewed
When Saab disappeared from the automotive industry, it left behind a legacy that is still being felt today.
But a lot of its history is now caught up in moss and algae, as many of its dealerships remain abandoned.
One Brit has now managed to buy one of these sad stores, though, and has taken to YouTube to document how he, and a team of devoted builders, are transforming the space into a fresh, new garage.

Named Torque Rooms, the abandoned Saab dealership was purchased last year, and its new owner has been preparing to refurbish it.
First on the agenda was assessing any damage, and the building remained untouched over the holiday season as an army of dehumidifiers dried out the rotting dampness.
Since the New Year, though, the rebuild has begun to kick into life, as heritage touches like reviving the original flooring have been mixed with modern design concepts.

Achieving his dream garage
With progress being documented on YouTube, the abandoned Saab dealership will eventually be a place to relax and marvel in automotive prowess, being much more than your standard garage.
In the first upload, the owner claims that he will champion old-school Saab vehicles, alongside classic Porsches, giving customers a place to relax with coffee while grease and oil are flung around the workshop in the back.

“Torque Rooms is where coffee, cars, and community collide. We’re transforming a forgotten space into a warm, industrial sanctuary for real conversations, great coffee, and shared passion for machines.
Inspired by the soul of car culture and the importance of mental health, this is a place to slow down, open up, and connect.”
The team intends to be ready to rock and roll in summer 2026, where it hopes that Torque Rooms will be full of life, powered by the lingering spirit of the much-missed Saab brand.
