When this guy purchased a barn from an elderly man, he never expected to uncover something as extraordinary as a Plymouth Superbird.

Resting in a small garage in a large barn, the 1969 Plymouth Superbird could be the wildest barn find ever for a car enthusiast.

Although, upon a closer look, it was clear that it wasn’t a genuine article, but a replica, the discovery was still worth it.

Plymouth Superbird discovered in a barn

The story of this incredible car was covered on YouTube by Emelia Hartford, a popular YouTuber and car enthusiast.

The barn was a home to so many weird surprises.

Besides the car, odd items like faraday cage and some old mining equipment also resided at the place, hinting at its mysterious past.

What added to the barn’s mystery even more were the walls of the garage, that were insulated using illegal material, raising more questions about the owner.

Despite being a replica with missing parts and in rough condition, restoring it was still worthwhile given its rich and storied history.

Most iconic muscle car ever

The Plymouth Superbird is hailed as the epitome of muscle cars, and with only 1935 models ever produced, this car is equally rare too.

The car’s rich history with NASCAR makes it all the more special. The 1969 model was the first ever to reach 200mph, a milestone that changed racing forever.

Then comes NASCAR legend Richard Petty – a man with a profound connection to the Plymouth Superbird, further enriching its legacy.

Petty wanted a winged car, and thus left Chevy for Ford, but Chevy couldn’t let the NASCAR legend go so easily.

Thus, in order to win him back, they decided to create a winged car, and that’s how the Plymouth Superbird was born.

The car found in the barn may have been a replica, but it was definitely worth restoring – after all, it was a proud symbol of American muscle cars.
