This Tesla Model S owner has taken his love of the EV to the next level and has managed to rack up over a million miles on the odometer.
The great feat was accomplished by one German enthusiast in his 2014 Model S P85.
This news comes after a huge shift to EV from gas-powered cars has made the Tesla more desirable to a wider demographic.
But the miles weren’t covered without some challenges.

The Tesla Model S – a marvel of modern EV engineering
Tesla has a whole fleet of EVs that are instantly recognisable by their exterior, such as the Tesla Model S, which was first released in 2012.
One car enthusiast in Germany has proved his love of the EV in a very unique way – by hitting an impressive milestone.
Because, when we last checked in with him, he’d driven the Telsa well over 1.2 million miles. But he’s now gone well past that total.

In fact, his efforts have almost broken records, too, proving that, if cared for properly, EVs can withstand a huge test of time.
The 2014 model has been keeping the enthusiast on the road for months on end, but according to Hot Cars, it isn’t the only EV that he owns.
A Tesla Roadster in his collection has also driven over 300,000 miles, proving he can really make every last percentage point of his battery last.
This EV is for life, not just for Christmas
Over a decade after the electric sedan was first released, the car is still a staple in his life, and now, the car has even reportedly passed more than 1.6 million miles according to the owner’s X account.

But just how was this remarkable goal achieved?
Well, he puts it down to driving in short bursts, and reportedly, after every 62 miles, he takes a break, and has even driven as much as 3,000km per day in this fashion.
Another secret of the Tesla Model S’s longevity is the fact that the owner allegedly only charges his battery when it gets down to 20 percent.
The EV has, though, had some elements replaced over the course of its life. In fact, he’s gone through 13 engines and four battery packs, but he does reportedly benefit from a lifetime of free Supercharging.
You have to admit, that’s an impressive number of miles driven.
But the achievement hasn’t come without its challenges, that’s for sure.
