This man shared the sneaky hidden costs of owning a Porsche 911 that led to an eye-watering bill.

Buying any car, let alone a classic, is costly, but when it comes to a brand like Porsche, you can expect to be paying a substantial sum to keep it ticking over.

It was all down to one oil leak that caught the driver’s eye, which in turn revealed a whole host of other issues that need tackling.

But, despite the hidden costs, the car is still a diamond in the rough.

This Porsche 911 got a bit more than he initially bargained for

Porsche is one of the most well-known car brands across the globe thanks to its unmistakably fast fleet of vehicles.

The most famous model, though? The Porsche 911, but as you’d expect with classic cars, a huge bill is often never very far away.

One YouTube creator, Nobby on Cars, found this out the hard way after purchasing a classic Porsche 911.

However, after parking the classic car on his drive, he noticed a leak and decided to do the responsible thing and get it checked.

But he wasn’t prepared for the other hidden costs that followed.

Not only did the car have a tandem oil pump issue, which cost over $600 alone, but other problems were found by specialists.

The brake lines were ‘knackered’ amongst other issues.

Now, as you’d expect, fixing a car like this won’t come cheap.

“Labour’s my worst enemy here,” noted the 911 owner, as he listed the other things that also need fixing.

In fact, all the repairs and elements to access them added up to a hefty €9,193 ($10,714) repair bill when all was accounted for.

But it wasn’t all bad, as the specialists advised that some of the things could wait a year, but the tandem oil leak was the ‘biggest issue that you need to get sorted now’.

“It’s a good message for everybody, if you’re buying something classic, you just can’t do enough checks to have a look,” the creator said.

Plus, the creator expanded further in the caption.

“Luckily, my mechanic suggested a staged plan: around €4,000 ($4,662) this year to keep it safe and solid, with another €5,000 ($5,82) in the future,” he wrote.

The classic 911 is highly regarded by gearheads all over the world

The Porsche 911 is a classic that car enthusiasts can only dream of snapping up one day.

From the unique design to the powerhouse of an engine beneath the hood, the car is universally loved by many.

For example, one man decided to buy the cheapest manual Porsche 911 Turbo in the US from Facebook Marketplace and shared what really impressed him.

Plus, we bet that you probably didn’t know the Miami Police Department was whipping around in a Porsche 911 back in the ’90s.
