How far can you get with $400k and a dream of owning the perfect supercar? A Lamborghini? Ferrari? McLaren? None of the above for this British man, as he’s snubbing the big-name brands and netting an unknown supercar.

What the heck could be better than these?

Well, while the above supercars all fall in that $400k category, former professional racer turned content creator Mark McCann has uncovered a secret supercar nobody has ever heard of.

The KTM X-Bow GT-XR is a limited-production European supercar, and it blows the big brands out of the water.

UK man snubs Ferrari and Lamborghini for unknown supercar: KTM X-Bow GT-XR

Mark McCann is a supercar aficionado, building off the back of his racing career to curate a supercar collection that boasts a $1.6m McLaren P1 among many others.

But he’s had enough of these modern supercars and wants something that scratches his track-ready itch while operating in the road-legal parameters.

So he flew to Austria to find this gem.

This unknown supercar is the KTM X-Bow GT-XR.

Limited to just 100 units worldwide, the road-legal racecar lends itself to both straightline speed fanatics and track demons, being incredibly quick but with super nimble handling.

Capable of tapping out 174mph and hitting 0-60 in under three seconds, the Austrian diamond is everything you need in terms of speed. But it quickly catches the attention of McCann due to its control around the bends.

Oh, and it opens like a fighter-jet cockpit, with one door.

In a recent upload, he travelled to Austria to give it a test run.

“It’s more exciting than any Lamborghini,” he claimed.

But will it find a place inside his $9.5m portfolio? If the decision were up to his fans, he should.

“All the other YouTubers are sticking to the ‘traditional’ brands, be different and be brave,” one popular comment read.

In the episode, he walked away deliberating the decision and left viewers on a cliffhanger.

Europe’s hidden supercar gems are rarities that rival global brands

The X-Bow isn’t the only relatively unknown supercar knocking around in Europe, as many companies are trying to follow in the footsteps of Swedish icons Koenigsegg and Bugatti spin-off Rimac from Croatia.

Denmark’s Zenvo Aurora and Poland’s Arrinera Hussarya GT are just two more examples of these smaller brands developing supercars that can rival Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Of course, both of the big dogs are biting back, though.

But the jury is out to see whether these unknown supercar manufacturers can really thrive in the shadows of manufacturing royalty.
