A man spent a month buying and flipping cars to see if he could make an easy profit, and was left shocked by how much cash he actually made.

Cars can be a great way to make some extra money, whether you’re renting it out on Turo or delivering for Grubhub to cover your Cybertruck payments.

YouTuber WL Media recently decided to try his own side hustle by flipping one car a week for a whole month.

And he was left pleasantly surprised by how much profit he made in just 30 days – here’s how he did it.

He spent a month flipping cars to see if he could make a profit

The YouTuber bought a total of four cars across 30 days, made some fixes and repairs, before selling them on.

He started off the month by handing over $4,850 for a 2021 Subaru Impreza.

The car had been listed for $6,000, but he was able to talk the seller down and – even better – the Subaru only needed some minor work before it was good to go.

Incredibly, the car sold in just 16 hours and was branded the ‘easiest flip of the month’ by the YouTuber.

Spurred on, he bought a salvage title 2005 Lexus ES330, and haggled with the seller to take the price from $3,200 to $2,100.

However, as you might expect, the car had some issues, and its salvage title made it difficult to sell.

In the end, it sat for almost a week before it was eventually bought.

In the third week of his challenge, he bought a 1993 Ford F350, which was listed for $4,000, but he was able to negotiate down to $2,000.

The truck needed some work, around $520 in total, but it sold after just four days.

Finally, he bought a $3,500 2006 Jaguar S-Type.

The Jaguar had a broken air conditioning system, but he was able to get it fixed for just $50, and although it was a little harder to find a buyer, he sold it before the month was out.

How much did he make? And what did he learn?

After managing to make a profit on all of the vehicles, the project was hailed a success.

And as well as money, the YouTuber also learned some things along the way.

The Lexus ES330 was his toughest flip of the month, with the salvage title making it a less attractive option for buyers.

“Never buy salvage titles unless the deal is insane,” he said.

“This car was a salvage title. They’re harder to sell. Buyers get nervous.”

But how much did he make?

Well, the Subaru Impreza sold for $6,500, a profit of $1,650, and the Lexus ES330 sold for $3,000, bringing in a profit of $900.

The Jaguar S-Type sold for $5,000, making a profit of $1,450, but it was the 1993 F350 that turned the biggest profit, selling for $5,000 and making the YouTuber $2,480.

In total, he made $6,480 after just 30 days of flipping cars. Impressive stuff.
