Maserati is ditching the turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the 2026 Grecale and replacing it with a V6.
The Maserati Grecale SUV went into production in 2022, and was offered with EV, mild-hybrid, or combustion engines.
The SUV’s base engine was a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
But now Maserati has scrapped that in favor of a more powerful offering.

More power is coming to the base Maserati Grecale and there are changes for the EV, too
The old GT and Moderna trims came with the four cylinder engine, which could produce 296 horsepower and 325 horsepower respectively.
Meanwhile, the more expensive Trofeo trim came with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, with an output of 523 horsepower.

Now, the old base trim has been scrapped, and the four-cylinder engine is on the way out, making way for a detuned version of the V6.
Although a less powerful version than that in the Trofeo, the V6 inside the 2026 Grecale Modena is still good for 386 horsepower, a boost of more than 60hp from its predecessor.
According to Maserati the new Modena V6 trim will be able to hit 0-60mph in 5 seconds flat, and has a top speed of 160mph.
The 2026 Maserati Grecale Trofeo remains unchanged from this year’s model, with a 0-60mph time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 177mph.
As well as the Modena, the all-electric Grecale Folgore has also had some changes.
Its range has been boosted by 30 miles, bringing it up to an estimated 275 miles between charges.
The increase in range is caused by a new all-wheel-drive disconnect feature that’ll make the EV more efficient.
Despite a beefier engine, the price has dropped
In terms of pricing, the 2026 Grecale Modena V6 will come with a price tag of $86,495, which, despite its power boost, is actually $2,330 less than the 2025 Modena.
The 2026 Grecale Trofeo starts at $119,495.

The 2026 Maserati Grecale Folgore is the most expensive of the bunch with a starting price of $121,290.
Of course, these are just the base prices.
And customers keen to snap up one of the new models will also be offered all manner of options and extras, including custom paint options that can cost upwards of $18,000.
