Michael Jackson’s former security guard might be scrapping his Ferrari 355 GTS even though it’s only sustained some minor damage.

Matt Fiddes bought the stunning Italian stallion when he was just 19.

However, the time has come for him to part ways with the red beauty – as mice have chewed on some of the wires.

According to Fiddes, the damage can’t be repaired as his car is so rare.

Why Michael Jackson’s former security guard is parting ways with his Ferrari

Celebrities are renowned for their impressive car collections, and Michael Jackson was no exception.

Among his stash was a Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph – with an interior straight out of the Palace of Versailles – and an electric golf cart.

But it wasn’t just the late singer himself who had access to cool cars.

The man who was his bodyguard up until his death in 2009 is the proud owner of a Ferrari 355 GTS.

Or at least he was.

Thanks to mice chewing up the internal wires, he’s parting ways with the car.

In a post on his Instagram, the bodyguard-turned-entrepreneur lamented his loss.

“My Ferrari 355 rare 30-yr-old car destroyed.

“When mice attack your 30-yr-old Ferrari 355, […] bought at 19 years old to reward my success!

“This car was my childhood dream! Kept well for 30 yrs and then one day attacked by mice! Due to the cold winter they wanted to stay warm!” he wrote.

“Depending on what the insurance company say this iconic car that was my dream reward for my success at 19 yrs old maybe a write off!

“Although I don’t care! All that matters is your health and your family!” he went on.

“It took me nearly 30 yrs of business to understand it! Understanding the real meaning of life!

“Ferrari 355 its been nice knowing you! I hope you are saved!

“If not you motivated me throughout my childhood! The poster on my wall!

“Hope the hungry mice enjoyed the expensive lunch!” he concluded.

Fortunately for Fiddes, he has a Ferrari F40 on standby to give him some comfort.

And we wouldn’t be surprised if some other awesome cars were stashed away in his garage.

From security guard to entrepreneur

Fiddes worked as Jackson’s bodyguard for a decade, and considered the Man In The Mirror singer a close friend.

During his time working for Jackson, he mingled with many big names such as Britney Spears and Whitney Houston.

In the years since Jackson’s death in 2009, Fiddes has spoken at length about his time working for the superstar who generated headlines throughout his life.

He has also turned himself into a entrepreneur and a property investor – explaining his lavish taste in cars.

Shame he has to say goodbye to this one.
