Polish rally ace Miko Marczyk just drove 1,759 miles across Europe on a single tank of diesel.
He usually drives flat-out. This time, he barely touched the throttle.
Behind the wheel of a Skoda Superb, he crossed multiple countries without refueling.
All the while setting a new world record for distance.

How far can a Skoda Superb go on one tank of diesel?
Miko Marczyk, the reigning European Rally Champion, is used to pushing cars to their limits on the track.
But off the track, he’s addicted to seeing how far he can go without breaking one.
To pull off the record, he filled the Superb’s 66-liter tank to the brim in Łódź, Poland, then drove through Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands before looping back home.
Over the 1,759-mile run, he averaged just 90 miles per gallon – good enough to land a Guinness World Record for the greatest distance driven on a single tank of fuel.

The car itself?
A normal Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI – 148 horsepower, seven-speed DSG, 16-inch wheels.
Pretty much stock, just driven smart.
The only changes were Sportline springs lowering the car 0.6 inches for better aerodynamics and low-rolling-resistance tires.
Everything else was about technique.
He held steady at about 50mph, coasted toward toll booths, and used tailwinds like free power.

He even had a support vehicle a few miles ahead radioing every incline and curve so he could lift off early and avoid braking.
By the time he rolled back into Poland, he’d done something no production diesel sedan had ever achieved.
1,759 miles on a single fill.
Diesel might be dying but not quietly
It’s almost ironic.
Diesel engines are vanishing from Europe’s new-car market, now down to 8.3 percent of sales.
Yet here’s Skoda’s Superb quietly reminding everyone why oil-burners ruled for so long: long-range, low-stress, and freakishly efficient.
Marczyk isn’t done yet, either.

He’s already planning another run, aiming to crack 1,864 miles.
This time on premium fuel.
And while the world moves toward electric, he’s testing that too.
He once drove a Skoda Enyaq EV from the Tatra Mountains to the Baltic Sea without charging.
And in a Skoda Octavia RS iV, he covered 67 miles on a single liter of petrol.
A rally champion proving restraint beats speed – that’s not something you see every day.
But after 1,759 miles on one tank, Miko Marczyk just made slow driving look legendary.
