These are the Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire and the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, the first and second most expensive cars in the world respectively.

And the price tags are truly shocking.

Rolls-Royce Boat Tail

Each Boat Tail is made-to-measure, and built specifically to meet the requirements of the (wealthy) customer that bought it.

The price tag is insane, with each Boat Tail starting at $28 million.

The list of buyers is kept secret, as you’d imagine, but rumor has it soccer star Mauro Icardi owns a Boat Tail.

Beyonce and Jay-Z are also rumored to own one.

Supercar Blondie’s Sergi Galiano was lucky enough to spot one in Dubai a while ago. Check out the pictures below.

Each car is hand-built upon commission.

The first Boat Tail ever unveiled was designed for a private Rolls-Royce collector who’s apparently in love with pearl shells.

They gave Rolls Royce designers a selection of pearl shells from their private collection – and these inspired the final look of the car.

The color is a blend of oyster and soft rose with large white and bronze mica flakes – giving the car a shimmering finish that changes under different light.

Only three Rolls-Royce Boat Tails have been built, and it’s unclear whether Rolls-Royce will ever make more.

Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire

The Rolls-Royce La Rose Noire is two-door, two-seat roadster, and it is one of four exclusive ‘Droptail’ convertibles created for ultra-rich clients.

The car is a tribute the Black Baccara Rose, which originates from France.

The car – just like the flower – changes color according to how it’s viewed, and in the right light also exudes a dark shade of red.

Each component of the interior is hand-built, too.

The dashboard combines 1,603 individual pieces of wood.

It also incorporates a specially commissioned removable 43mm Audemars Piguet luxury watch that doubles as a dashboard clock.

This is the most expensive new car in the world, with a price tag of $31 million.

Now, these are the most expensive cars in the world but only when it comes to new cars.

If you include pre-owned cars, the record belongs to a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, which sold for a whopping $142 million at auction last year.
