Sedans – better known as the family car of choice – just gatecrashed the supercar club.
EVs and hybrids have sent the horsepower war into orbit – four-door sedans with 1,000+hp are no longer science fiction.
From German legends to American bruisers to Chinese disruptors, the arms race is alive and well.
These are the heaviest-hitting sedans in the world, ranked by sheer horsepower.

1,526hp – Xiaomi SU7 Ultra
Xiaomi’s triple-motor EV sedan dropped jaws with 1,526hp and a Nürburgring record of 7:04.957.
Even better?
It costs a fraction of the German exotics, making it the new disruptor to beat.

1,234hp – Lucid Air Sapphire
Lucid threw three motors and a mountain of torque at its flagship sedan.
The Sapphire cracks 60mph in 1.89 seconds, but it’s not just a dragster – carbon-ceramic brakes and torque vectoring make it shockingly sharp for something this big.

1,019hp – Porsche Taycan Turbo GT
More than 1,000hp in a family EV, plus Nürburgring bragging rights.
The Taycan Turbo GT does 0-60 in 2.2 seconds and sets a blistering 7:07.55 lap, proving Porsche DNA still lives in four doors.

912hp – Audi RS e-tron GT performance
Audi’s most powerful car ever is all-electric.
Dual motors crank out 912hp, blasting it to 60mph in 2.4 seconds and proving the RS badge works just as well in silence.

905hp – Lotus Emeya
Lotus went electric but didn’t ditch its DNA.
The Emeya packs 905hp, active aero, and perfect weight distribution, sprinting to 62mph in 2.78 seconds.

807hp – Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak
With 807hp from a 6.2-liter HEMI, the Jailbreak is a rolling farewell to Dodge’s gasoline era.
Brutal in a straight line and unapologetically loud, it’s muscle car excess with four doors.

791hp – Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance
The most powerful S-Class ever wears an AMG badge and packs 1,055lb-ft of torque.
A PHEV twin-turbo V8 delivers limo luxury with rocket-ship thrust, hitting 60mph in 3.3 seconds while keeping the massaged seats humming.

771hp – Porsche Panamera S Turbo E-Hybrid
The Panamera S Turbo E-Hybrid is the sharpest version yet – 771hp from a twin-turbo V8 and electric motor, 202mph flat out, and seating for four.
It’s heavy, but Porsche engineering keeps it tight in the corners.

771hp – Bentley Flying Spur Speed
The Flying Spur Speed shares its PHEV setup with Porsche, good for 771hp and 738lb-ft.
It weighs almost three tons, but still rockets to 60mph in 3.3 seconds.
And it comes with champagne chillers in the back.

717hp – BMW M5 (G90)
The M5 has always been the definitive sports sedan, but the new G90 takes things hybrid.
A twin-turbo V8 plus electric motor delivers 717 horsepower and 737 lb-ft, making it the most powerful M5 ever.
Heavier? Yes.
Less fun? Not at all.

668hp – Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
Manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, and a supercharged V8.
Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing is the last of its kind – a snarling American sedan that can hang with Europe’s best while staying gloriously analog.

625hp – BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé
Call it a coupé all you want – it’s a four-door with a monster V8.
The 625hp Competition spec keeps BMW’s grand touring side alive, complete with all-wheel drive grip and a savage 3.0-second 0-60.

621hp – Audi RS7 Performance
Audi’s V8-powered liftback blends supercar speed with everyday usability.
The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter pumps out 621hp.
Enough for a 3.3-second 0-60 sprint, while wrapping you in leather and tech.

Sedans used to be sensible.
Now they’re supercar killers with back seats.
