Doomscrolling and late-night video crawling might be set to change forever as a mysterious YouTube channel has quietly just dropped a 140-year-long video that could entertain you forever.

Since the rise of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, our tech consumption habits have changed drastically.

Nowadays, the average user spends just a few seconds watching the latest TikTok hack, while long-form videos are turning into full-blown production sets just to keep the brain stimulated.

But one video is trying to blow ‘long from’ videos out of the water with a watch time of over 1.2 million hours.

Mysterious 140-year-long video uploaded to YouTube leaves viewers baffled

Grabbing attention on YouTube can be a graft in 2026. For Supercar Blondie, it was all about unboxing and testing out wild fake cars from China.

For others, like the famed MrBeast, you need to have 100 pilots and a $2.4 million jet on standby.

But one mysterious content creator known as shinywr has already racked up 3 million views in eight days as they uploaded a new video titled ‘?’ with a running time of 1,234,567:30 hours, equating to around 149 years.

The YouTuber only has two other videos on their channel that run for 294 hours and 150 hours in one sitting, respectively.

“‘1 more video before bed’, the video:” one person joked.

“My wife in 2170: ‘”‘Are you still watching that YouTube video?’ Me: ‘Yes – almost done,'” jested another.

So, how has anyone managed to record and upload 149 years’ worth of content into one video?

Well, the video currently runs with a blank screen with no visible images, unless there is a secret buried deep within it.

However, the video appears to be a hack.

YouTube’s longest video ever has been debunked

While the display claims that the video is over one million hours long, the actual upload is much shorter.

It’s claimed that the mysterious account has found a hack to display the wrong information on their video previews.

In reality, the blank upload is just 12 hours long; still, a lengthy watch just for a black screen.

The YouTube account in question still looks to be in the money when it comes to revenue sharing, as the 140-year-long video continues to rack up thousands of viewers every minute.

Knowing how the first-ever YouTube video continues to grow its viewers every day, this hacked video could be a brilliant way of having a revenue stream for years to come.
