NASCAR star Kyle Busch drives cars for a living, but a 1969 Camaro is his daily driver.
The muscle car is a truly stunning car, and it’s not his first time owning a Camaro.
After selling his previous 1969, he discovered his new set of wheels whilst browsing online.
It’d been tucked away in a barn for 20 years, and wasn’t much to look at – but Busch saw its potential.

The backstory of Kyle Busch’s beloved 1969 Camaro
If you drive cars for a living, there’s a good chance you’d be picky about your daily driver.
After all, would you really want to be out for a leisurely drive and feel like you’re at work?

At any rate, a 1969 Camaro is an excellent choice for a car.
It’s classic, it’s cool, and it’s got a lot of charm.
We’ve seen a fair few of them over the years, in varying states – with one looking pretty rough over on Facebook Marketplace, and another looking rather stylish after a restoration.
Busch’s 1969 had spent 20 years sitting in a barn in Terra Haute, Indiana.
It was covered in dust, but was otherwise in good shape – no rust, no dents and only 37,000 miles on the clock.
He paid $30,000 for the car, which is a bargain.
Busch saw the car’s potential and sent it off to Detroit Speed to spruce it up.

As reported by motortrend, Busch said: “I couldn’t wait to get rid of the blue. I always wanted a silver Camaro with flat-black stripes.
“Oh, and it had to be fast.”
The team over there performed an LS swap, bringing in a Magnuson supercharger as an added bonus.
Other modifications gave the Camaro 706hp and 674Ib-ft of torque.
A car fit for a NASCAR champion
Relatively little was done to the car’s interior in the grand scheme of things.
Detroit Speed upgraded the sound system and did up the seating with black leather, but otherwise avoided a vast departure from the original.
Busch is evidently a big fan of the car, as he’s featured it in several social media posts.

In one post on X, formerly known as Twitter, he shared a video of the car getting a tune up: “[With] the break here, I won’t be able to drive my 69’ Chevy Camaro as much as I would like.”
“Had to give her Lucas Oil Injection Cleaner so she’s ready to go when I get back.”
In terms of looks and driving style, it’s vastly different from his first Chevy.
That one was orange with white stripes, and wasn’t doing it for Busch, largely thanks to its inadequate handling and sub-par brakes.
Even when he’s off duty from NASCAR, Busch likes his cars to handle nicely.
