Hennessey is known for producing utterly crazy cars.

Aside from producing its own hypercar – the Venom F5 – the company is known for its insane aftermarket upgrading of vehicles.

Now, though, Texas tuner has been working on a very special Ford Mustang.

And it might just be one of the craziest yet.

Hennessey: Texan-based hell-raisers

In case you’ve (somehow) never heard of the company before, there’s a couple of things you should know about the company.

Firstly, Hennessey Performance Engineering was established by John Hennessey in 1991.

Hennessey HQ can be found in Sealy, Texas – just 45 minutes west of Houston.

The Texans are the specialists in taking ordinary, road-going cars and turning them into monstrous animals with four wheels.

They do this by significantly modifying existing engines, whilst upgrading the parts with high-performance components.

These include large superchargers, high-flow exhaust systems, custom camshafts and upgraded valvetrains.

In essence, the firm takes already powerful cars, then loads them to the gills with car-equivalent steroids.

They then sit back and watch the firework-inducing results.

Hennessey Ford Mustang Super Venom GT is the latest beast

In previous episodes, the company have collaborated with Chevrolet to create an aftermarket Camaro called The Exorcist.

They have also tuned a Cadillac CTS-V to produce over 1000BHP.

Now, the company has gotten its hands on a Ford Mustang, and it is a beauty.

Hennessey has taken the 5.0 liter V8 from the Mustang, and given it one hell of a makeover.

A new supercharger, a high-flow air induction system, larger fuel injectors and an in-house engine management fixing manages to nearly double the horsepower, from the original 500BHP up to 850BHP.

And the changes keep on coming with the exterior, too.

The Texan tuning company has added its own VenomAero body kit.

It includes a massive front splitter, active hood vents, and a new goose-neck wing.

These sophisticated aero updates help the Super Venom GT cut through the air and use more of it’s power.

How much will this hell-raising hedonism set you back?

Quite a bit, if we’re being honest.

Hennessey have said that the Super Venom can be based on either the Mustang GT or the Dark Horse Mustang.

A Super Venom based on the standard Mustang GT will set you back around $149,950.

If the Dark Horse Mustang is more your cup of tea, then it will cost you around $163,950.

The company has already started building these insane cars, so get your order in now.
