The new Jaguar EV luxury sedan will be one of the hardest cars to spot when it launches in 2026.
Jaguar has confirmed the Jaguar EV will be built in very limited numbers as part of a major shift away from mass-market sales.
The Jaguar Type 00 concept, revealed in 2024, showcased the proportions and styling cues that will influence the road car.
With prices rising and production shrinking, the new Jaguar signals the start of a very different strategy for the brand.

Jaguar EV built to be rare
The company has confirmed that the new Jaguar will be a four-door electric luxury sedan.
It will take its design direction from the Jaguar Type 00 concept, which featured clean surfaces and a striking profile.
While the concept was a two-door coupe, the production version will have four doors and seating for four.
Executives state that the design language from the Jaguar Type 00 will carry through with minimal changes.

Unlike earlier models like the F-Pace and XE that relied on higher production to compete, the new Jaguar EV will be deliberately scarce.
Brandon Baldassari, head of Jaguar USA, has said that every time the car appears on the road it should feel like a rare moment.
This reflects Jaguar’s wider plan to end its current model lineup and concentrate instead on a new identity built around a smaller range.

The price of the new Jaguar is expected to average around $130,000, nearly double the previous brand average.
Jaguar leadership believes the retail environment of Land Rover dealerships, where vehicles regularly sell for over $200,000, is well suited to supporting the Jaguar EV luxury sedan.
Some dealers have chosen not to continue with Jaguar during the transition, but the company maintains that those remaining have the right clients for the shift.
New Jaguar signals a reset
The new Jaguar represents a complete repositioning of the brand.
The company is focusing on profitability per car rather than total sales, aiming to maintain higher prices and prevent oversupply.
Executives argue that this scarcity-driven strategy will protect the value of the Jaguar EV while reshaping the marque’s reputation.
The Jaguar Type 00 provides the clearest example of this vision.
Its stripped-back design marked a break from Jaguar’s recent styling direction and previewed how the company intends to compete in the luxury EV segment.

While rivals emphasize advanced interiors and digital technology, Jaguar is betting on design clarity and controlled production numbers to make its case.
The new Jaguar EV luxury sedan will serve as both a test of this new strategy and a signal of the company’s future.
Limited production, higher pricing, and a design rooted in the Jaguar Type 00 concept will define the model.
The long-term success of the plan will depend on whether buyers respond to the rarity and exclusivity when the car reaches showrooms in 2026.
