New York man full of praise for neighbor's reaction to his Corvette, not what he's used to

Neighbors and loud cars don’t usually mix. One rev too many of the Corvette Z06 and you’re the villain of the block.

That’s what this New York owner expected when he pulled his Velocity Yellow Z06 into the garage.

But instead of a noise complaint, the guy next door whipped out his phone.

And what came next was nothing but love for the V8 soundtrack.

A not-so-nasty neighborly note

The interaction was posted to Instagram by 1cleanz06, the ‘Vette’s owner, in a clip captioned:

“When the new neighbor comes out to hear the car.”

The owner’s neighbor was the one filming as the 2008 Corvette fired up on a cold start, the V8 rumbling low before cracking into that signature roar.

Instead of complaining about the noise, the neighbor was simply enjoying the show, celebrating the Chevy as ‘nasty.

In this context, that’s not shade – it’s high praise.

Fans in the comments backed him up.

“That rumble to that loud high pitch roar… not a Hemi or Mustang or BMW V8 got ‘vette’ sound,” one person wrote.

“Wouldn’t mind neighbors like that… engine” another added.

The Corvette Z06 packs a punch

This Chevy isn’t just making noise for the sake of it – it’s carrying serious muscle.

The Corvette has a 7.0-liter V8, one of the biggest ever stuffed into an American supercar, that belts out 505hp and howls to 7,000rpm.

Normally, numbers like that come with service bills that make your eyes water.

But Chevy flipped the script  – the Z06 delivers supercar thrills without the supercar maintenance tax

Loud enough to rattle windows, affordable enough to actually drive – that’s why it’s a cult hero.

And this Chevy owner’s neighbor clearly appreciates the drama.

This Velocity Yellow Corvette isn’t just a loud car, it’s a block star.

A reminder that some engines earn applause, not complaints.
