Hands up if you grew up wanting to take a ride in the Batmobile? Well, you could be in luck because this street legal version has just gone up for sale.

The car was made for the 1989 Batman movie, which starred Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader.

The Batmobile comes with its own certificate of authenticity to prove it is the real deal.

Adding to its mean looks is an authentic British Harrier jet intake and rear flame thrower that simulates an afterburner.

The Batmobile has a license from Warner Bros

If you were asked to name the most iconic fictional cars, we’re pretty sure that the Batmobile would make its way onto the list.

Due to its popularity, we’ve seen more than our fair share of replica, reproduction, and one-off Batmobiles, like this incredible real-world Batmobile that sold for $270,000 on SBX Cars or this one that took six months to build

Now, a real-deal Batmobile has gone up for sale, and despite its audacious looks, it’s street-legal.

The vehicle was made in 1989 and carries an official license from Warner Bros, which produced Batman.

It was made by Hollywood Productions, a company that makes specialist movie cars, and has been signed by several of the builders who worked on it.

Despite it being created for the launch of Batman, it never actually made it onto the big screen.

The car was used for the Batman exhibition/stunt show at Six Flags Great Adventure instead.

It measures almost 20 feet long and is entirely street legal

The Batmobile is based on an extended Chevrolet Impala chassis and measures just short of 20 feet long, and boasts a sculptured gloss black fiberglass body.

The street legal vehicle also features custom wheels with Mickey Thompson tires and functional headlights and taillights.

Inside, you’ll find a jet-inspired cockpit with customer leather seats and door panels.

Of course, with it being the Batmobile, there’s also a control panel filled with buttons, switches, levers, and lights.

Under the hood, there’s a Chevy 350 small-block V8 engine paired with an automatic gearbox.

But if you were hoping to hop behind the wheel and chase down the bad guys at breakneck speeds, then you’re out of luck, because the car has a top speed of 30mph (48km/h).

We’re not quite sure what Bruce Wayne would say about that.
