These Pennsylvania men bought a virtually free abandoned yacht from Facebook Marketplace and did its first wash in 15 years.

YouTube channel, Rebuild Rescue had big plans for this yacht and wanted to take veterans and first responders out with their families for a day on the water.

But before they could do any of that, this boat would need a serious clean.

And it was 15 years overdue for one, so it would be a big job.

When securing a yacht from free from Facebook Marketplace, you have to accept that there’ll be some challenges along the way.

These brothers, who bought a yacht for $150, discovered that very quickly.

To get the job done, the team were going to use an old diesel power washer that had been sitting unused for five years.

And when we say it’d been unused for five years, we mean it – you could really tell this had been sitting idle for a while.

There were signs that animals had nested inside the air filter, so this thing was in need of cleaning.

That’s ironic, isn’t it? The equipment needed for cleaning is in need of a going over itself.

At any rate, once it was ready to go, the team go to work on the yacht.

How did the yacht look once it’d been washed?

The pressure washer worked like a dream when let loose on the yacht, and the hull showed signs of improvement quickly.

The interior also needed some work, made more difficult when the engine’s drain plug fell out and sprayed oil everywhere.

That’s not forgetting the bees dwelling inside the boat, and the general mess.

A foam cannon and specialized cleaners were also brought out to get the boat sparkling clean again.

By the video’s ending, hours of scrubbing had made a massive difference.

There’s still some work left to do, primarily with regard to a paint job.

It’s not easy cleaning up a yacht, as many YouTubers know all too well.

Some guys took a chance on a $250 speedboat from Facebook Marketplace, but quickly realized they’d bitten off more than they could chew.

Then there’s the couple who spent a grand total of $1 for a yacht in Connecticut, and set about fixing it up.
