This woman lost her life savings on an Infiniti QX60
Tameria Mizell found a 2015 Infiniti QX60 on Facebook Marketplace for $9,000 and went along to see it.
It drove great and looked to be in good shape, so she bought it – even getting the price knocked down to $8,500.
However, things unraveled very quickly.
After driving it home, the dashboard lit up with warning lights.

“It doesn’t work hardly at all, all the lights come up on the dash, if I go to push the gas pedal, to drive around someone, there’s no power to the car,” Mizell told Fox 4.
She reached out to a Infiniti dealership to learn more about the car’s history.
She learned that the car’s previous owners had brought it in, where they’d been told that the car would need work before being sold.
Suffice to say, they didn’t listen and the car was sold with all of its issues.

A local garage found that the car had an expensive list of issues that need repair – but Mizell can’t afford to foot the bill.
“I took a bad slip and fall 2 years ago and I acquired a little bit of money and that’s the only bit of money I had…$8,500,” Mizell said.
And there was no chance of a refund from the original seller either.
Buying from Facebook Marketplace can often be a gamble
Mizell has shared her story in hopes that it will warn others of what could happen when buying from Facebook Marketplace.
Cars going for sale on there can be a mixed bag, and people should always exercise caution.
But there are plenty of success stories to go around – like this DeLorean DMC-12 from Arizona.

Then there was this Porsche 911 Turbo, and this 1948 Rover.
The FBI has offered up some tips on shopping safely through Marketplace – verifying the seller is real, checking the Carfax report, asking detailed questions, and not sending money through Facebook.
