An US mechanic on TikTok discovered a ‘hidden’ sticker on a 2014 Ram 2500, prompting them to state that they ‘learned something new every day.’

The mechanic at Royalty Auto Service saw their video gain over 600,000 viewers on TikTok.

The truck came in from a client who usually does oil changes and maintenance themselves at home.

However, the sticker prompted them to take it to the shop, as it convinced them they needed professional help.

The Ram came in to have the drive shaft lubed

According to the video, the owner had brought their Ram 2500 truck in for the drive shaft to be lubricated.

However, as the mechanic discovered, there appeared to be no grease on the fittings.

Nor were there any clues as to how to lube the shaft on the truck.

Using a mirror, the mechanic found a small, silver hole on the Ram.

This is called a zerk fitting, and allows a grease gun to inject grease into that area.

It was then that the sticker was discovered which provided additional instructions on greasing the shaft.

The sticker said that the Ram 2500 needed MS-6560 Lithium-based grease.

Unfortunately, the local dealer had never heard of it.

When they did find track some down, it turned out it was on backorder until December 2025.

Thankfully, the dealer later found the grease online and was able to buy it from eBay and complete the job.

Viewers recounted experiences related to the drive shaft

Plenty of fellow TikTok users waded in on the issue via their comments on the video.

Some explained that the instructions for lubing a drive shaft have been the same for some time.

“They have had them on the shaft for years; we have had them come apart because people never had them serviced,” a fellow mechanic said.

The sticker was actually located under the hood of the truck.

It’s clear, though, that fellow truck owners and mechanics were shocked this garage didn’t know about it!

It would appear that they aren’t the only ones, and due to this, the drive shaft on the trucks is often neglected.

As you would expect, this can lead to failures and even cause damage to the truck.

It’s safe to say this mechanic has learned a valuable lesson thanks to this 2014 Ram!
