These guys set themselves the challenge of buying rare 1990s cars – the kind that you don’t see anymore on the UK roads – for less than $4,000, and then fix all of the issues…and there were more than enough.
The rare cars the YouTubers found were a Volvo 480 Turbo they affectionately named Vinnie, alongside a Rover 220 Turbo Tomcat.
The pair worked on the rare 1990s cars to try and bring them back to life properly – but more and more issues kept popping up in the renovation project.
Could they put enough TLC into these two 1990s cars to get them back on the road again so they can stand out and dazzle people?

We love a rare car being brought back from insignificance. But there’s nothing better than two of them being brought back to life in this awesome YouTube challenge.
The two YouTubers, Alex and Taylor from Autoalex Cars, set themselves the task of finding classic cars that haven’t been seen on the UK roads for a long time. The catch? They have to cost less than $4,000.
In total.
Alex and Taylor both delivered with the car options they found for the challenge.
Alex bought a Volvo 480 Turbo that he affectionately named ‘Vinnie’, while Taylor purchased himself a lovely Rover 220 Turbo Tomcat.
Alex decided to give Vinnie a makeover and remove the sporty yellow stripe along the edge of the car.
He quickly used up his $2,000 modification budget on a new clutch, snazzy white Compomotive wheels, and tuning.
Taylor, though, had an issue with the Rover from the beginning, as it had a non-starting issue.
He then realized that the spark plugs were flooded and completely worn out. But even after replacing them, he still found the tricky and corroded wiring in the car confusing and unreliable.

Alex decided that Vinnie needed to be tuned to go super fast and added a new exhaust, which he decided was a good use of his modification budget, unlike Taylor, who just wanted his Rover to start.
Taylor was able to fix the spark issue, tracing it to a broken wire in the loom. He finally managed to get the Rover roving again, although it did start to smoke.
Vinnie was a lot better after its TLC treatment, although it still suffered from some dashboard lights. But those seem to be a problem for another day.
