This guy found a real Shelby GT350 Mustang that had been rotting away, abandoned in a barn.

This is a real Shelby GT350 – by the way – not a clone.

You can tell the car has been sitting here for a while because it’s in terrible condition.

But it is potentially worth a lot of cash.

He had to play the long game to get it

The guy from the American Mustangs YouTube channel found an abandoned Shelby Mustang in a barn next to an equally decaying lake house in Georgia.

The YouTuber said it took him around two months to negotiate this, but he’s finally able to take the car home and restore it.

It’s going to be fun, no doubt, but it is also going to be complicated.

The car is in dire condition, the rust alone is going to give him a massive headache.

The Shelby GT350 is one of the most coveted cars in the world

The Shelby GT350 Mustang is one of the most sought after cars in the world.

Collectors absolutely adore it.

Every once in a while, collectors and barn find hunters uncover examples that sat abandoned for decades.

Sometimes they’re in good nick, whereas on other occasions they have to be dug up from the dirt.

With (ultra-rare) exceptions, they almost always come with Shelby’s signature stripes.

The problem is the Shelby GT350 Mustang, on the surface, is very similar to ‘normal’ Mustangs from the same era.

So this means that there’s always a risk of finding one that’s been carefully modified to make it look like it’s a Shelby, when it isn’t.

Fortunately, that’s not the case here because this is a genuine Shelby.
