This Porsche Cayenne is bringing 70s vibes to the Dubai desert
Phillip Sarofim was the lucky man who got to take this car home.
You may recall he was the man who owned this $20 million Aston Martin from 1979.
The entrepreneur and car collector had gone to Porsche with very specific ideas about what he wanted, as one ’70s car had left a big impact on him.

“The look of the 911 Spirit 70 made a lasting impression and inspired me. I really wanted such 1970s vibes for my Cayenne as well,” he said, according to Porsche.
“From the very beginning, I had the idea of driving through the Rub al-Khali Desert near Dubai, with a large Airstream caravan.”
The basis of the project was a 2009 Cayenne GTS with 50,000 miles on the clock.

A towbar was fitted to accommodate Sarofim’s caravan ambitions, and hey presto.
To bring in the ’70s vibes, the car was decked out in Blackolive, a Paint to Sample color.
On the car’s lower half, the alloy wheels were finished in matt black, helping to reinforce the car’s new status as an off-roader.
What does the car look like on the inside?
On the inside, the green and black theme continues as English Green meets a black/olive Pasha pattern.
This textile fills the centers of each seat, in a pattern that evokes a feeling of movement.

The interior doors are finished in light-brushed aluminum.
“We have mainly carried out such elaborate Factory Re-Commission projects for classic Porsche or for rarities such as the Carrera GT,” Alexander Fabig, Vice President Individualisation and Classic at Porsche, said.
“The fact that we have now rebuilt a 16-year-old Cayenne to new car condition and made it an absolutely unique piece shows how diverse the dreams of Porsche enthusiasts are.
“And it once again underlines the iconic status of the Cayenne.”
