A black 1967 Lincoln Continental convertible has surfaced for sale in St. Louis, Missouri.
It’s a large, unmistakable American luxury car from the late 1960s, finished in black with a white interior.
On its own, that wouldn’t usually cause much noise.
But this one is being noticed for a very specific reason.

Why this Lincoln Continental looks instantly familiar to movie fans
If you’ve ever seen National Lampoon’s Animal House, this Lincoln probably clicks before the eBay listing details do.
It looks dangerously close to the movie’s infamous ‘Deathmobile’ – the enormous black Lincoln that shows up late in the film when the Deltas decide subtlety is overrated and revenge should arrive on four wheels.
In the movie, the Deathmobile was a 1966 Lincoln Continental sedan.
The car for sale here is a 1967 four-door convertible.

Different year, different roof.
Technically, not the same car.
Visually, though, it lands in almost the exact same place.
The Continental’s design does most of the work.
It’s long, flat, and unmistakably formal in its design.
Painted black, it immediately looks less like a classic cruiser and more like something that means business.
Which is exactly why it worked on screen.
That’s why this listing isn’t being treated like just another vintage Lincoln.

To Animal House fans, it reads as a near match.
Same shape, same presence, same energy.
What the Deathmobile actually was and why this Lincoln still nails the look
Here’s the part people often forget: the original Deathmobile wasn’t some rare factory oddity.
It was a regular Lincoln Continental turned into a movie prop by legendary custom car builder George Barris.
The same name behind a long list of instantly recognizable film and TV cars.
There were no crazy body kits, special effects, or gadgets.

The joke was the car itself.
A massive, dignified luxury Lincoln being used in a completely unhinged college comedy is very Animal House.
The contrast is the whole point.
And because the look is so simple, it’s aged incredibly well.
You don’t need screen-used parts or the exact model year. You don’t even need the right body style for most people to get the reference.
All you really need is a black Lincoln Continental that looks like it could pull up to a parade – or a frat house – without anyone questioning it.
That’s why this car, currently sitting just over $10,000 with bidding still active, is being talked about the way it is.
Not as a spec-sheet hero but as a reminder that some movie cars never really disappear.
They just wait for the next listing to roll along and jog everyone’s memory.
