Besides cleaning up at the VMAs, Taylor Swift also had to do a literal sweep of the area to find the lost diamond from her ring.

Taylor was sitting front row at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

And unfortunately for her, this meant cameras caught just about everything she did.

First, videos of her dancing enthusiastically to everyone from Demi Lovato to Doja Cat went viral.

Then she was captured in the moment of a very small but very expensive wardrobe malfunction.

The singer arrived at the VMAs in a striking all-black Versace number.

She accessorized the look with a number of silver and gold vintage jewellery pieces.

One of these pieces was a Van Cleef and Arpels onyx and diamond ring.

Crafted from 18k yellow gold, it features a large piece of onyx placed on a twisted golden band.

Oh, and there’s a huge diamond cluster in the center too.

The ring was on loan to Swift for the evening and is available to buy from Joseph Saidian & Sons for a cool $12,000.

As well as a team of stylists dedicated to making sure she looked good, there was also a cameraman whose sole job was to record Swift for the night.

Normally we’d say this is a bit excessive.

But it means he caught the moment she realised she’d lost the ring and the chaos that ensued.

First, she showed the ring band, notably missing the piece of onyx and a diamond, to a member of security.

There was instantly a team around her, scouring the floor for the missing piece with flashlights.

Eventually, Taylor spotted it and the team helping her burst into applause.

That was one of the only things Taylow lost that evening, and she walked away with a whopping nine VMAs.

Luckily the company who loaned her the rock had a sense of humor about it.

“We are still forever Swifties” Ariel Saidian said on his Instagram.
