In what could be the biggest ‘what the f’ moment in modern racing, one lost Tesla driver caused a red flag by somehow bypassing security and driving onto the track head-on with the oncoming motorbikes.
In a week where elite-level motorsport has been under scrutiny for anomaly on-track invasions, racing faced another close call.
Formula 1’s Liam Lawson was just left in disbelief as two field marshals ran across the track mid-race, leaving an investigation to be launched about the safety of everyone involved.
Now, a week later, an active Tesla has somehow rolled onto a live motorcycle track, and even the commentator was left outrageously baffled.

Motorbike racing commentator loses it as Tesla ends up driving towards traffic mid-race
Reliance on modern GPS systems has led to some drivers getting more than lost, especially when re-routing through parts of the California desert.
But this one Tesla driver might be the most lost anyone has ever been, as they ended up driving towards motorbikes at the fifth round of AFM’s motorcycle racing season in Buttonwillow, Kern County.
The red Tesla appeared to have maneuvered around the barriers and seemingly surrounding stewards to find itself on the track.
Everyone was flabbergasted. None more than the commentator.
“A car! A Car! Someone has driven a car on the track!” they said.
Thankfully, the red flag – an indication to all drivers to slow down for serious obstructions – was waved and recognized by the racers before the Tesla entered their proximity.

Racing had all but come to a stop by the time the motorbikes reached the area of the circuit where the Tesla was, meaning no one was harmed. But it could have been very different if the lap times were 30 seconds ahead.
“I’ve been watching motorcycle racing for 23 years, and I don’t know what I’m looking at.”
The commentator even claimed that the Tesla might have been looking for a nearby public Supercharger, whether manually or through FSD, although this couldn’t be confirmed.
“In a world of what the F, I present to you, what the F. This may be the biggest F I’ve ever what’ed,” they added.
Lightning does strike twice
The racing world has been under the microscope for the Liam Lawson incident this week, which only makes this Tesla driver incident even more baffling.
Lawson was cleared of any wrongdoing by the FIA on November 1, after two stewards ran across the front of his car mid-race, after retreieving debris on the sidelines.
The Racing Bulls driver was audibly shaken up by the close call, having radioed into the pit crew to say, ‘I could have killed them’.

Hopefully, as motorsport circuits begin to enter their climaxes before the holiday season, security will be tightened up and everyone will be kept safe in these cars flying around at 200MPH.
The Motobike race incident can be seen below, around the 7:23:40 mark.
