Tesla is a dominating EV giant
The car company has an impressive fleet of electric vehicles on offer.
Compiled data has even shown Tesla is the cheapest for 10-year upkeep among major car brands.
Plus, thanks to self-driving capabilities, one Tesla owner shared footage of their car weaving through congested roads with no hands on the wheel.
And now, thanks to a clever hack, one owner has shared what to do when the EV’s battery is so low that the vehicle won’t actually open.
His method involves jump starting the car

Yes, it is that simple, according to @jeremyjudkins_, who shared a clip of the method to X.
“If the 12v battery is dead, you can use this technique to jumpstart the car and open the frunk, even if it’s locked,” he captioned his post.
In the video clip, he explained that your Tesla‘s battery will be so depleted that it won’t actually register that it needs to charge.
He said that on the front of the car, there is a hole that can be utilized to open the frunk.

In order to do this, you simply need to attach both the positive and negative terminals from a battery jumper and it will pop open.
Then, the real magic happens.
In order to jump start the battery, all that needs to happen is attaching the red positive lead to the car’s same cable, and then repeat the process with the black cables too.
But as Jeremy’s was a demonstration, the red cover should come off when attempting this yourself.
“Everything should be good to go,” he continued.
Online, users had mixed views
“Very educational,” said one user.
“You still can’t drive it without keycard – or fob, mobile access – and if pin-to-drive is enabled,” another cautioned.
What do you think of the hack? Will you use it if you need to?

If you see a Tesla stranded at a supercharger, and unable to charge, likely the 12v battery is dead.
