Tesla appears to have finally revealed when the Roadster will be revealed.

The marque’s EV sports car has been the topic of a lot of debate recently.

And that debate appears to have finally forced Tesla to take action.

But we still can’t tell if it’s actually serious or not.

You won’t believe the new testing date…

As you might know, the Tesla Roadster has been the eye of a major EV storm lately.

And that is because it still hasn’t been anywhere near close to being delivered.

It has caused celebrities such as Marques Brownlee to publicly cancel their orders.

We thought that this public outcry might have finally sparked the brand into action.

America’s premier EV brand previously promised a test date sometime in Q4 of this year.

Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen made the promise on the Ride the Lightning podcast.

“I’m excited to showcase the Roadster for a lot of different reasons. The wait will be worth it.”

Unfortunately, we still don’t know if Tesla is serious or not.

And that renewed doubt is because of Elon Musk.

The brand’s CEO revealed a new testing date during the 2025 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.

And the new date that has been promised…is April 1st.

Yes, you read that right – Tesla’s new testing date is April Fool’s Day.

Will the Tesla Roadster ever materialize?

By now, you are probably as familiar with the delays surrounding the Roadster as we are.

In case you have forgotten, allow us to refresh your memory for you.

The brand first announced the Roadster eight years ago, although the world is, of course, a very different place from how it was in 2017.

But one thing remains the same – the Tesla Roadster is still nowhere in sight.

The company has spent the last several years making lofty promises and talking a big game.

But the lack of tangible delivery has led several high-profile figures to cancel their orders.

It has even led OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to publicly demand his $50k deposit back.

The saga even led to Altman getting into a very public spat with Musk on X last week.

Whether we ever see the Roadster in the flesh or not is still the source of much debate.

And brand CEO Elon Musk has thrown more fuel onto the fire.

Even if the April 1st test date happens, Musk has suggested that production won’t begin until 12 to 18 months after the unveiling.

Some reports suggest that the date would put actual production as far away as 2027.
