After discovering an abandoned Corvette ZR1 in his work parking lot, this Texas man is on the hunt to find its original owner, and he’s getting closer.
Supercars such as the Corvette ZR1 are meant to be glistening down American highways.
But this particular unit appears to have had its handbrake on for years, leaving the days of burning freeway asphalt behind.
Still, after being found in a work parking lot, one Texas man is on a mission to get it back on the road.

Texas man on the hunt after finding an abandoned Corvette ZR1
Usually, when we see abandoned Corvettes, it’s something like this 1972 classic that was hiding in a Kansas barn. Vintage, yet an old model.
Seldom do we get anything quite like an abandoned Corvette ZR1.
However, one of these beloved C6 supercars has been spotted in Texas, racking up layers of dust in a parking lot.
Highlighted on Reddit, the Corvette ZR1 C6 was spotted by ‘YourAverageCuber_’, and it was evident that the car had been unused for a long, long time.

In a bid to track down the original owner, the Redditor has now recovered the VIN number and found that the car was originally owned by a man from Daytona Beach in Florida.
After that, it went to an ‘unidentified seller’ back in 2011.
“I’ve got the VIN and the car has checked out not to be stolen or salvaged,” the Redditor said
“Still digging.”
Many people began theorizing that the owner may be incapacitated, as you can’t forget a car like this.
A restoration project in the making
While there’s little sign of deterioration on the Corvette ZR1, these sports cars are primed for restoration, detailing, and upgrade projects.
Recently, two brothers from Tennessee rebuilt a totalled ZR1, and the final product was spectacular.
At its base value, too, the Corvette ZR1 is moving from strength to strength as one of the best sports cars to ever come out of America, having already set a comfortable record around Germany’s Nürburgring track.

As for this abandoned Corvette ZR1, let’s hope its owner can soon give it a good wash down and bring it home to live out its days where it belongs.
